The other night I received a message that there was an
update for McCafee firewall. I downloaded the update and
restarted my computer. It keeps coming up with a black
screen. I tried several restore points and the same
happens. Someone told me the problem was I had ad blocker
on when I downloaded the update for firewall. Any
suggestions on how to correct the problem?

Thamks,

Joe

Try getting to Safe Mode and then use System Restore to take you back to a
time prior to when this started.  Boot the system, start tapping F8, when
the menu appears, select Safe Mode from the list and press enter.  Once in
Safe Mode, you should immediately be offered the opportunity to use System
Restore.  If not, go to Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System
Restore.
