I just upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP. When
trying to open a PDF file with Adobe 6 a popup window
comes up with "loading microsoft windows journal viewer"
This will not load, then there's an error message stating
that microsoftwindowsjournalviewer.msi can't be found.

Have you tried reinstalling Adobe Acrobat?  It sounds like it's associating
PDF with the incorrect application.
