searching inside files

I am unable to search for words and phrases inside files.  When I try it
scans very quickly and finds nothing, even when I know the words are there.

There are ways to tweak XP's Search to scan inside of more than the most
basic document file types. More info here:

Personally, I prefer an alternative find tool such as Agent Ransack (free)
that can be found here: http://www.mythicsoft.com
