Batch File Wait (Sleep) is a command-line tool that causes the computer to wait for a specified amount of time.

Concepts
You can use batch files, which are also called batch programs or shell scripts, to simplify routine or repetitive tasks. A batch file is an ASCII (unformatted text) file that contains one or more operating system commands. When you type the file name at the command prompt, or when the batch program is run from another program, the commands are run sequentially as they appear in the file. The file name of a batch program has a .cmd or .bat extension.
