Walt - 29 Dec 2005 18:41 GMT Hi-
Where can I find information in my computer that shows it being a 32Bit or a 64Bit? The PC is using Windows XP.
Thanks for any help you can send.

Mike Hall (MS-MVP) - 29 Dec 2005 18:54 GMT Unless you purchased a 64bit computer and installed XP 64bit, you can safely assume that it is 32bit running on your computer..

Read what I said again, and then work out that unless one has a 64bit computer, XP 64 bit will not run on it anyway..
This is not rocket science..

Almost certainly you have the 32-bit edition. Almost anybody who has to ask the question is running the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version requires special hardware.
But if you want to check to be sure, enter WINVER at the Start | Run line.

Done that. Where does it say 32 bit?

Also, I forgot to mention that WinXPx64 is version 5.2, as opposed to all of the 32-bit versions being 5.1.

Oscarina - 31 Dec 2005 18:22 GMT Congratulations to your help and support.
I want to thank everyone who responded to my question, especially Bruce and Gerry.
Bruce was saying if 64-bit edition explicitly says "WindowsXP Professional Professional 64-bit Edition. I see that I don't have WindowXP Pro Edition.
Using WINVER in Run, I discovered that I have Microsoft Windows Version 5.1
I wish you-all a Happy New Year's Eve.
P.S. Freedom, Freedom, Freedom! I heard it in a movie.

Sorry, I should have made that clearer.

Well what can you do when Ken decides, as he has just done in another thread, to stick with Syrup and Figs ( aka msconfig ) to avoid autoruns ( from Sysinternals )?

I have to agree with Ken.. more features leads to more confusion.. some things are better kept simple..

Education, education and education.
You can tailor the response to the individual.
However, my last post was not seeking a serious response! May be this will revive your spirits: http://snipurl.com/l5zs

Mike Hall (MS-MVP) - 30 Dec 2005 18:22 GMT ROTFLMAO.. the only game where you could fit an entire American Football game into the slow parts.. Gerry, that is a mind-blowingly slow game, where the players are so far away (and probably half asleep), throwing a toilet roll onto the pitch is never noticed

My mistake I thought you were a kangaroo!
Is American Football quick? Brawn over brain?
A definite change channels if it comes up on the box!

The only time I was in Canada it was difficult to see the local wild life, birds or bears <g>, given that I was over 30,000 feet above sea level.
I did learn to skate many years ago but I never tried ice hockey. It is very much a minority sport in the UK. I just checked to see whether there is still a National League. There is.
Well we are a bit OT now!
