Can't Share File On A Home Network

when I try to share a file on my home network (XP home to xp pro) I ge
a Service service not started error msg. And that precludes me fro
sharin

Is the Server Service (lanmanserver) running?  Usually when you enable
File and Printer Sharing the necessary services are properly configured.
 The information you provide is scant.  Are any errors recorded in the
Event Log when this happens?

Try asking the question again with better information and details.  This
provides nothing to work with.
