Using my genuine UK Windows disk I have reinstalled windows XP prof SP2 in
my 87 key Sony Vaio pcg-gr215sp laptop.  My keyboard has lost its " and £
and instead I get the US layout of @ and #.   I have double checked the
region and in Control Panel/Regional and Language settings it is definately
United Kingdom in both  Regional options and Advanced.

I'm using notepad and Wordpad to check this out.  I do not see any special
keyboard driver and Windows detects the laptop keyboard as a 105key
Microsoft keyboard.

What can I do to fix this?

regards,

Beemer

Bruce,

I had the keyboard language bar enabled and US was set as default.  Deleting
US left UK and all is now okay.  Sorry for not posting this.
