View and Sort by in Explorer problem

Anyone know how to get rid of the ABC headings?

Explorer seems in capable of remembering how I want to view folders. Not
ususlly a problem as I can put it back... but this time it's sorting files
alphabetically and putting A B C...etc headings

Right click an open spot in the folder's right hand pane.
Move your mouse pointer over "Arrange Icons by...".
In the menu that pops out click on "Show by Groups" to remove
the check mark.
Next, click on Tools at the top of the window.
Click on Folder Options.
In Folder Options, click on the View tab and his the "Apply to
all folders" button.
Click OK.

Brilliant. Thanks for that. I kept staring at the options but never noticed
that one before.
