Andrew, I D/L and installed the latest update for SDK (441mb) restarted pc.
The update showed up
and I installed it. says it was successful but a min. later it was back
again. I don't want to turn off auto
updates but how can I turn this one off ?

Also, do I need windows defender installed. I have the latest Win. Live
Onecare?

Thanks

Just a word of caution.    Andrew E. is a blathering nincompoop who
persists in posting inappropriate and misleading comments to these
newsgroups.   There are (rare) occasions when his advice is actually
correct, or at least is not harmful, but that is similar to the
situation where a stopped clock shows the correct time twice a day.

Win Live One Care apparently faired embarrassingly badly, for MS, in a
recent virus test
