How can I change the file system on an external drive? I have saved files to
it from my laptop as NTFS but when I connect it to my desktop the properties
window says the file system is RAW, so it will not read from or write to the
drive. Any suggestions please?

Type: diskmgmt.msc  In run,R.click on the drive,select format,use the
options.
Or.go to run,type:cmd  In cmd type:DiskPart  In DiskPart,type:FORMAT E:
/FS:ntfs
E: being the drive..

As usual Andrew is giving bad advice. Be aware that the advice given
will destroy all of the data on that drive.

Sadly Disc Manager does not show the drive in its list, so I cannot format it
either from there or from My Computer/Properties. DiskPart does not have a
Format command so I can't do it from there either. I don't mind losing the
data, there's not much of it and it is easily replaced, so any other ideas
please?
