Windows Forum / Windows XP / Basics / May 2007Lockup
Running Windows XP pro. Administrator account is password protected. System boot normally to login. I move cursor to the password window and try to enter password characters. The mouse cursor freezes and no characters(the little dots) appear in the password box. Everything appears frozen. System reset to force reboot and everything works fine. Any ideas what could cause this? TIA It could be a corrupt registry, a nasty virus, or your computer has had enough. You could try to do a clean install if you have copies of all your files.
