My explorere is topped with a huge list of files ending .sqm Can anyone
identify these and advise if I can delete them without causing harm to my
system and other programs? Would appreciate any help possible.

MIGHT be windows Live Messenger log files.
Some of the information I've read indicates that upgrading windows Live
messenger to version 8.1 alleviates the accumulation of these files.
The ones on my system are only 1 KB each, so the only issue would be the
file count in the root directory

They are Windows Live Messenger Log Files(Stands for Service Quality
Monitoring files). They are safe to delete, but it is unsure on how to stop
them from appearing.
