Somebody please tell me how to fix this. In order to open files or folders, I
have to right click then choose open or explore.

Hi,

Try this (easier than hacking the Registry):

Doug Knox's fix
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_folder_open.htm

or ...

Go to Start => Run and type in "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" {without the
quotes}, and click OK
