Problem#1: Hibernation starts, then reboots

That's it. I hit the 'sleep' button when that's set to hibernate, Windows
'prepares to hibernate', then reboots the system.

What's wrong? I've been able to hibernate before. Not now.

Mike make sure you update all drivers with windows new update
site,then try again...should work.
