My new laptop screen is very dull. How do I make it brighter. I have looked
at Contro Panel / Power and Control Panel / Display but cannot see anything
relevant. What am I Missing?

Thanks in anticipation of correct answers.

On my Dell laptop I can hold down the "Fn" key and tap the up and down
cursor control keys to change screen brightness.

Check the manufacturer's documentation. There's most likely a key
combination to control brightness.
