Explorer|View|Details Then Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then "Apply
To All Folders". Depending on your likings, you may also need to check
"Remember each folder's view settings"

| Hello,
|
| the presentation of a file item in a directory always defaults to "Icons" in
| the "View" menue. I prefer "Details". Can I get the default changed?

| Thanks

Thanks. However the subject procedure doen't stop win Xp Pro Explorer from
picking the "Icons" view as the default, say on adding a new folder.
