UPnpHost service depends on SSDP Discovery Service. Make sure that the SSDP
Discovery Service is started first.

I get a message box in the lower right hand corner of my screen that
says: UPnP: Lost Connection To Service 'WANIPConnection' on UPnP
device '192.168.etc. I tried to start the Service called UPnP but
received this message: Could not start the UPnP Device Host service on
Local Computer. ERROR 1068: The Dependency service or group failed
to start. Perhaps I have a Service disabled? Can someone help?

"Universal Plug and Play Device Host" and "Plug and Play" - Both are
different services. Which one do are you referring to?
Assuming "Universal Plug and Play Device Host", type this command in
Start/Run:
cmd /k sc qc upnphost
Copy the output, and paste the information along with your reply.

I finally got the services to start. I had to restart each one individually.
I put them all on autmatic. Uninterupable power will not start gives error
2481 The UPS service is not configured correctly.
I did not start Swupdtmr or C-DillaCda11BA
Todays problem is very slow start up, high cpu usage and Media center that
works on dvds but no TV.
Andy ideas?

I have an XBox 360 and was sharing the music and photos from my
computer through WMC 1.0. I'm now having a problem that XBox Customer
Support was unable to help me with. I've tried everything I could that
i found online, but nothing seems to be working. I was running Windows
Media Connect 1.0 and was completely able to view the pictures and
listen to the music from my computer. I decided to install WMP 11,
because I heard about the added videoshare capability. Unfortunately
when i installed it, it didn't work. I initially thought the problem
was my firewall settings, but now I'm not so sure. It didn't work, so
i rolled back to WMP 10 and reinstalled Media Connect 1.0. That no
longer worked. I've called Customer support and was unable to get any
help. The problem, I think, stems from a problem that keeps upnphost
(Universal Plug and Play Device Host Service) from running. When i try
to start the service it says that it started and then stopped. It
didn't give a reason. I've tried re-installing the upnp host, and that
didn't fix the problem, reinstalling WMP11 didn't solve the problem. I
even installed Zune, and that didn't fix the problem and it also needs
that service to run, so it didn't work either.
So I'm wondering if there is anything anyone here can do to help fix my
problem. I'll paste the results of the GetService Config:
SERVICE_NAME: upnphost
TYPE : 20 WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS
START_TYPE : 2 AUTO_START
ERROR_CONTROL : 1 NORMAL
BINARY_PATH_NAME : C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe -k
LocalService
LOAD_ORDER_GROUP :
TAG : 0
DISPLAY_NAME : Universal Plug and Play Device Host
DEPENDENCIES : SSDPSRV
SERVICE_START_NAME : NT AUTHORITY\LocalService
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me, I'm really kind of
at a dead end. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
