Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0: x86 (KB928416)

I tried the earlier technick of uninstalling NET Framework 2, do the
DotNetFix and reinstall but it is still not installing.

Do I even need to add NET Framework 3?

What sort of errors are indicated?  And which version are you having the
problems with?  It's not clear whether neither 2 nor 3 will install, or
whether your problem is specific to 3.

Hard to say.  .NET frameworks are like the old days of Visual Basic
runtimes.  Applications are written to use a specific version, and you
may need to have more than one installed.  I don't know of anything at
the moment that specifically requires .NET 3.0, but I'm sure stuff will
appear.

I have 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0 installed here.

I'm running WinXP Pro.  I read somewhere that KB829019 will not install if
you have the .Net Framework 2.0 Beta installed.  I have not tested that
theory yet.  I'm just not sure its necessary to install either.  I may just
set my update to NOT show these.  Haven't decided yet.
