Is is possible to have Ctl-] as a shortcut key for the Escape key?  I was
used to that in Unix systems.  Customizing Word with Ctl-] for Cancel failed
when it came to dialog boxes.  I recently noted while in Word that Ctl-Alt-S
brings up an HP machine summary, suggesting that XP has the shortcut.

I haven't tried that particular substitution, but I'll bet you can do
it with Autohotkey. I use this free product for many other non-
standard combinations, and both Windows and apps seem to honor them.
It even works in the command window.

Wouldn't that be a longcut and not a shortcut, using 2 keys to simulate one?
;)
