Because of problems had to reload Win XP on laptop that came with Win2000.
When I selected NTFS, I now have both OS's available. Can I load
applications(Office XP for example) on W2000 & have them accessible from both
OS's or do I have to load a set of apps for each OS? I had been using WinXp
for 4 years but began experiencing system hangs upon cursor moves - so went
to current configuration.

Even if the OSes are sharing the drive - in order for one to access most
modern applications that are utilizing functions of the OS to run (DLLs,
etc) - you will havew to install the application for each OS.

Perhaps you would like to troubleshoot the issues instead of turning your
world topsy-turvy because of 'mouse hiccups'?

You choose to. It's unlikely that you had to.

NTFS? It has nothing to do with NTFS. Was the result you wanted? If not, you
did the installation incorrectly.

No.

If that's what you want.

If you haven't loaded any apps yet, and you just want XP, you should redo
the installation correctly.
Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if necessary to
accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean installation (delete the
existing partition by pressing "D" when prompted, then create a new one).
