I would like all desktop icons for image files (jpg and others) to
automatically show up as thumbnails of the image.  Is this possible? -- Joel

Hi Joel,

Open a random folder Right click (on the blank area) --> View -->  Thumbnails.
You will have a thumbnail view in this folder. Now we are going to set that
all folders have a thumbnail view. In the same folder go to Menu button -->
Tools --> Folder Options --> Tab View --> Press Apply to all Folders and just
to be sure enable in the Tab View: Remember each folder's view settings.
