1. Regedit | HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Current Version \

2. Edit Menu | Select Permissions | MenuOrder Dialog appears | Click Advanced
The "Advanced Security Settings For MenuOrder" Dialog appears. Click the
option "Inherit From Parent Folder" check box.
3. A "Security" Dialog appears...Click Copy
4. Click Ok, returning to the "Permissions For MenuOrder" dialog, clear all
check ooxes associated with accounts in my name. Done!

Right-click on any Start menu entry and select 'Sort by name'.

Hi Leonard
Thanks for the reply....I knew there had to be a simple way....
Can you explain a little further, the procedure in my second posting above
and does the following....
1. Put the programs in Alphabetical order.
2. Advantages / Disadvantages of making these changes to the MenuOrder in
the registry?
Thanks in advance

I have no clue and don't care, since the procedure I provided works and
doesn't require editing the registry.

Hi Leonard
I suppose that's a good point...why bother!
I think the only difference is that it affects all the menus.
Thanks again
Have a good New Year when it comes.
