Anybody know why I can't sort my "favorites"?  Running XP Pro for years.
All system is updated.  Running IE7 which has the option of sorting your
favorites.  When I do this, I get nothing.  I would like to get it sorted
correctly.

By the way, the IE NG can't offer any help which is why I'm trying this NG.

Thanks

Try deleting the Registry key containing the sort information.

1. Copy between the lines
2. Paste into Notepad
3. Make sure these are on single lines (no word wrap)

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ . . .
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ . . .

4. Save-as MenuOrder.reg (or any name + .reg)
5. Double-click or right-click and merge into the Registry

-----------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder]
-----------------------------------------------------

Just to make sure I understand.....
The registry area you are referring seems to be the Program Items.   I'm
only worried about the Favorites.
However, I did manage to get it sorted correctly with the information you
gave me.
Thanks

That key is the sort key for the Start Menu and IE Favorites
