I running Window XP Pro.

Has anyone run into this problem?

Receiving the following error message when attempting to
install Java 2 Runtime:

"Error 1722.There is a problem with this Windows
Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did
not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or
package vendor."

Haven't been able to find a fix.

Try re-downloading. Also, go to the event log (in administrative tools) and
see if there is a message that indicates what the specific problem was.

Chris,

Thanks.  I went to the everntlog and there error message
is there and it is referring to the MsiInstaller as the
source having the propblem.  The version of runtime
is "Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_01:.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
