Is there a way to change the order of the running tasks in
the toolbar.  ie Outlook, word, excel to Word, Outlook,
excel, without closing the apps and restarting them in the
order you want.

the ones next to start button you can drag/drop where you
want them....next to clock are random.....

No, they are pretty much stuck in the order the apps were
launched and the toolbar is not locked.
