How do I move the taskbar from the left (or right) side
of the screen back to the bottom of the screen?

My 5 year old son has a knack for playing with the
desktop on our WindowsXP Home Edition and Professional
series systems and moving the taskbar to either the left
or the right.

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Right-click the taskbar and uncheck "Lock the taskbar". Now, try to drag it
to the bottom. do not drag it by clicking the taskbar edges (when the
double-headed arrow appears). Click on the middle empty area on the taskbar
and drag it towards the bottom

Click and hold down the mouse button and drag it back to the bottom of the
screen.

FYI - It may not seem like it's working when you first begin to drag it, but
drag the mouse all the way to the bottom of the screen and you'll see it
works.

Hi,
In addition to what Ramesh said, you may also lock the taskbar back when you
have moved it back to your desired position so that your kid is not able to
mess around with it.
