On my Toshiba Laptop running Windows XP home SP 1, suddenly, when I
try to customize the tray, I do not get any option other than to "hide
when inactive" for what is in the tray. I am not seeing "always show"
or "always hide".

I believe this problem started when a startup hung and I had to
shut the computer off and then "restore last good configuration".

  Any ideas?

Hi Jerry,

Even double clicking on each?  Try resetting the Hide when inactive settings
offered via the Taskbar Repair Tool:

Kelly,

Double clicking on each doesn't work. I can't find an option called
"resetting the hide when inactrive settings", but I tried all the
options that seemed to be related and none work.
