Ok, I have exactly the opposite problem. I don't want the picture at the top of my start menu that was once beside my name. I took my name off and now I want to take the picture off. I have other people on my computer so getting rid of the Welcome screen is out of the possible answers.  Is there ANY way for the love of god that I can just have a blank bar at the top of my start menu.

Thanks,
Lezzie

Use the Classic Start Menu.

Thanks Kelly :)
But is there anyway to keep the taskbar menu that's not the Classic Start Menu. I really like the capabiliity of having the most recent activity on the left hand side.  There just has to be a way to delete the picture?  Or how do you fill in your own picture so that it's the same size? I guess I could go into PSP and just do a square of the taskbar color.  I am not anal.. just frustrated. :)

Hi David,

She wants to remove the picture not the name.  Perhaps, you could help with
creating a blank image in Paint?

Honestly, I don't see the problem with it, but yes, there is a way and is
rather complicated.  One has to create an blank image:  48x48/71 dpi, depth
24.

Then go to User Account/Change my picture/Browse for more pictures/My
Pictures Folder/Choose the picture you created, then click Open.

Lezzie,

From my latest reply below:
----------------------------
Rename
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\Default Pictures
to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\NO_Default Pictures

Delete the file username.bmp [if your username is Lezzie, delete the file lezzie.bmp] in this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures

NOTE: You must rename "Default Pictures" otherwise this procedure won't work. Above procedure affects your user profile only. For all the user profiles, you need to rename "User Account Pictures" to something else. I've not seen a side-effect yet even after logging off thrice.

Then, follow David Candy's advice to remove the username at the top of the Start Menu.

:D  Thanks to everyone who helped me with this. I'm off like a prom dress in June to see if I can get that to work.  I'll come back and tell you one way or the other.

<Jumps for Joy>  Honest, I'm not that anal, I just like to make my computer my own.  It seems like renaming the "default picture" folder and deleting my .bmp worked.  THANKS to everyone who responded to me so quickly.
