Hello, I have a pretty annoying problem regarding windowed mode in games.
Whenever I play a game in windowed mode, when I press the s button it does
not get unpressed. This is especially annoying in Half Life 1-2 or any
shooter I try, since s is key for the movement of the character. I use an
update Radeon X300 with an updated direct x etc'... I run the games from a
Windows XP Home Edition on a Z60m Laptop. Can anyone help me?

Have you ruled out a bad key on your keyboard? Try another keyboard.

If you have your game controls set up correctly, it could also be you got
something running in the background. You don't have to be running in
Windowed mode anyway though. If you want the Alt Tab key to work, just have
something small open in the background .....like notepad, before you open
and run the game. With another program open behind the game, even a Steam
related game, you can then use the Alt Tab key combo to switch between
applications.

As I have said, it is the "s" key that gets jammed, and no, it has nothing to
do with the keyboard since I can type well like you see here. I want to use
windowed mode specificaly, because it allows me to view several windows while
playing the game, and is easier to close in case of a crash. Just an
additional info: the same happened to me in Hammer, valve's official mapping
program. Will be glad to get more feedback. THanks!

Hi VehpuS,

Do you have Hammer running everytime you experience this issue?

No, all I said was that the same thing happens to me in hammer (meaning that
when I press on an object it starts moving without me doing anything). I gave
it as an aditional example that could perhaps lead to the root of my problem.
Thanks though.
