Hey all, I managed to get my hands on PES 6 earlier at a local games shop, it
isnt supposed to be released in England until tomorrow maybe they didnt know
that there.

Anyway, I rushed home to try it out but when I try to play the game a
message window pops up saying:

*******************************
pes 6.exe

pes6.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the
inconvenience.

*******************************
Error signature:
AppName: pes6.exe
AppVer. 1.0.0.1
Mod Name: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.2945
Offset: 000ee50a

*******************************

My computer is way above the specs for playing the game. 2 Gigs of Ram,
Radeon x1600 graphics card, AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU. XP SP2.

I am really struggling to find anything more I can adjust. I have
uninstalled any mounting programs I have cause I heard they can cause
problems.  Direct X is updated.  The game looks like it instals perfectly,
and I have even uninstalled and reinstalled using a different DVD drive.  I
would really really appreciate any help!!

Thanks
Alex

Somebody broke the street day, so everywhere started selling it early. 8-)

OK, well let's try shutting down anything in the background.

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the Task Manager, click on the processes tab.
Try closing any process that's running under your username (ie not system or
services or taskmgr as that's the application you're currently using) and
see what happens when you run the game then.   Just make sure any documents
and stuff is saved first.

If that gets it going, try rebooting and narrowing the problematic
application down.

OK next up - try testing it on a new user profile.
