We have Windows Vista. Installed Fable under a secondary account (not the
administrator account). We get an error and have to run the game in "Safe
Mode." The game loads, then when it "auto saves" at the beginning, we have
audio, but the screen goes black. How can this be fixed?

What video card do you have in the system?
If you press Start and start typing Performance Information and Tools in the
search box (it should show up after the first few letters) and launch that
and then click on View and print details your video card should be listed
under "graphics".
I'm installing Fable now on my system to see if it works OK, I've needed an
excuse to do this for a while. <g>

Fable runs here fine on Windows Vista without admin rights, with a Radeon
X1900 card with the 7.2 drivers from
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/common-vista32.html

OK. I printed it.
Display Adapter: NVidia GeForce 7350 LE
Total Available graphics memory: 399 MB
Display Adapter driver version: 7.15.10.9734
Primary Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050
DirectX version: Directx 9.0 or better.
The card is not listed on the Fable web site. It's probably too new (?)

Thanks, try downloading and installing the video drivers here if you haven't
already:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_100.65.html
If those drivers don't solve the problem nVidia have a webpage where you can
report problems here:

Ya know, I still cannot figure out how anyone could like this game. I
played it for several weeks, hoping it would get better. No such luck. I
found this game to be one of the most boring, childish, wanna-be RPG's that
I have ever had the misfortune to play. MUD's are more fun than this game.
I would like someone to tell me what about this game is appealing?
