MapleStory Login Problem - 10 May 2007 01:23 GMT
Hello,

I've been trying to play MapleStory but cannot.  When I activate the client,
it goes through its Hacking Prevention stuff and tries to login but time and
time again I recieve a message telling me:

Unable to connect to the login server.
Either you are not online or MapleStory is going through a server check.
Please check the MapleStory homepage for more information.

So I go to the MapleStory homepage (guess I'm online) and there is nothing
about any "server checks" anywhere.

I have tried rebooting my computer, router, wireless internet, etc. all to
no avail.

I wonder if this is a Firewall concern?  But I tried running it with all my
Firewalls deactivated.  Nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi MapleStory Login Problem,

I found this article in the MapleStory Technical Support Forums at:
http://forum.nexon.net/MapleStory/forums/thread/740.aspx

I cannot connect to the server. It says that it's my connection or there is a server check.
Note: I am updating this section soon (the next time I can get on maplestory). If the current steps in this section do not help,
please be patient.

If you are outside of the licensed region for the version you are trying to play, your IP address may be blocked (credits go to
subiknight). If you live in the licensed region and you can't connect, first check your network settings:

 a.. Turn off your computer.
 b.. Unplug your router.
 c.. Unplug your modem.
d.. Plug in your modem then wait 30 seconds or until it finishes powering up.
e.. Plug in your router then wait 30 seconds or until it finishes powering up.
 f.. Turn on your computer.
g.. Login to windows using an administrator account.
h.. Go to Start: Connections : Show all connections.
i.. Make sure your network connection(s) are enabled. If they are disabled, right click on them and choose 'enable'.
j.. Repair all enabled connections by right clicking on them and choosing 'repair'.
 k.. Restart the computer.
l.. Login to windows using an administrator account.
 m.. Run Maplestory.
Windows can sometimes be stubborn when updating the settings. Just keep trying until it does. If after following these steps, you
can browse the internet but you can't access the server, you may have an issue with your firewall. Please read the documentation for
your hardware or software firewall and make sure you aren't blocking the game ports.
