did you make sure that you had the latest patches for halo and the latest
drivers for your video card?!

also make sure that your computer configuration meets req for the game...and
that the game is designed to work with your video card(unless patched games
arent forward compatible, and even then some games dont work with certain
hardware no matter what)

if that doesnt work try shutting down all non-essencial programs
