play final fantasy my computer restarts

every time i play final fantasy XI my computer restarts. sometimes it will
let me play for a while then it will just restart. i have virus protection. i
have a sony v.....pentium{R} 4 cpu 3.00 GHz...504 mb windows xp

Overheating maybe, if your system has been around a while, take it to
someone to stress test it (Geek Squad does hardware diagnostics for $59),
could be some hardware on your computer is failing.
