I use a removable hard drive on my win2000pro pc, I took
this hard drive and installed into winXP pro system which
would not reconize this hard drive. I then returned the
hard drive to my win 2000 system and although it appears
in the device manager as working ok the dis manager can
not reactivate this disk, get error- Disk group has no
valid configuration copies - have used seagate online disk
testing centre which says disk ok. This is second disk
this has happened, first time I assumed disk was faulty
but now feel it is some conflict between 2000 and xp.
Any help much appreciated.

I recently build a new computer and installed 1 cdrw, 1
dvd, 1 250 mb zip and a 80 gig western digital hard drive.
I installed Windows XP and the hard drive is showing as
the f drive and the zip is e and the cd's are d and g. I
have tried to change the drive letter in admin tools but
it is not allowing the change. Somebody please help,
trying to setup Ipod to the machine and the tech support
for Ipod says it will only work if the HARD drive is
showing as the c drive. PLEASE HELP, DRIVING ME BONKERS.
