Hi all

Thers tiny crack on the corner of my athlon xp 2400+ core.

You have to look hard to see it,just a tiny white speck
but I was just worried that it might affect its
performance,is this the case?

cheers

If you have a crack in your CPU, chances are you have a
heat problem.  IS the fan on top of the CPU still
working?  Has your computer been giving you strange,
unexplained problems?  I'd back up any critical files
that you want saved and have it checked out by a
professional.

A crack is not likely to be white. More likely you are
seeing a registration mark.  Bur a crack is possible to make
while attaching the heatsink and fan if there is too much
pressure applied at an angle.
