I had to repair my XP installation and when all was said and done, my CD and DVD burner are no longer recognized.  They do not show up in the Device Manager.  Motherboard drivers up to date.  Any suggestions?

I had the same experience when I was using the Via IDE Tool. You have to
reinstall it. If that's not the case
and the drives are not recognized in My Computer check here.
