Soundcard-migration from win98->XP

Was using win98 for a long time..had Soundmax version 5.0 card.
Then i Installed XP on a separate drive ,but cant play any audio..
the tray shows a soundmax icon but says "no soundmax audio present"
and im clueless..
infact i downloaded HP soundmax drivers and tried installation,during
which it said "no drivers present"!!
puhleez help me out!!

sorry for the bump.....but im damned dejected and cant wait for a
solution..its been a  month now .. :-(..plz help

You need EXACTLY the right driver set. Check the computer list here
against what you have before loading the drivers.
