Hi - I have laptop with DVD burner which I haven't used for a while with DVDs
- all used to work fine. Now however, it burns CDs no problem and plays DVDs
and CDs no problem, but when I try to burn files onto a DVD+RW or DVD-R it
says that there is not a disc in the slot. Software is Cyberlink power2go -
it came with the laptop and worked fine a few months ago. I have also pluged
in a friends USB DVD burner and the same thing happens. - hope someone can
help!

Looks like the problem is with the burner software. Try reinstalling it or
upgrading from the web site.

CD/DVD Burner XP Pro software??? == The built-in burning system???  If yes,
then you need to know that this software will not burn DVDs.  Microsoft
never included DVD capabilities to it.  It can only create CDs as read-only
discs.
