A friend of mine has big trouble with this company and its support.

What are you peoples opinions about gateway?

Gateway makes great products and has very helpful product support. That has
been my experience anyway.

Are your references to the 'Gateway to Oblivion'?.. I know of a few who
swear by Gateway.. hmmmmmmm.. it might have been 'swear at', come to think
of it..

Regardless of opinions, we are not tied to helping everybody but Gateway
owners, so get your friend into here and we will discuss..

I've owned several Gateway laptops and never noticed any smell.

Dell, Gateway, HP... they are basically all made with the same
components and a different name slapped on the case. The biggest
difference between these guys is the support they might offer and the
business model.
