Trying to use Roxio EZ CD Creator but it won't recognize my CD drive which is
a Toshiba tsst TS-H192C that came with my new Dell Dimension 5150.  Do I need
to find another software?  What should I get?

Is your Toshiba CD Drive a CD-R or CD-RW?
If not, no software recording program will work
with a plain old CD Drive.

First, does the operating system (XP I assume?) see the CD drive, such as in
windows explorer?  If not, you have bigger problems than Easy CD Creator.

Assuming that XP sees the drive, does it see it as a "CD" or "DVD" drive or
a "CD-RW" or a "DVD-RW" drive?  If only seen as a reader, then you probably
need drivers for writing.  These usually come as part of the software that
comes with the drive (or PC, if bundled together).  Alternatively, Easy CD
Creator should have installed adequate drivers.

If XP sees it, then Easy CD should also, assuming a recent version.  The
first version to work with XP was version 6, with a lot of patches.  Version
5 and earlier will not work with XP, and there is no patch for them.  Worse,
if you install one of these older version, you must remove all of it before
installing a newer version.  Roxio offers a tool to do this; it is called
RoxioZap.  Check their website.

Assuming a modern version of Easy CD, have you checked for updates?
Sometimes Roxio (now Sonic who owns Easy CD) will post patches to add
support for newer CD/DVD+-RW drives.

You might also try Easy CD support.

It's a Samsung not a Toshiba and everything I can find on the web preports
to it being a CD/DVD ROM drive.... not a burner
