Lines in the moniter

I have a win xp home edition.I have a 17" flat moniter with an intel 82845g
graphics card.few line like things appear on the bottom of my moniter
screen.they are transparent so u can't spot them that easily.is it a hardware
prob or should i update my driver.

If they were not there earlier, but are now, try another monitor with that
PC.  This will eliminate the cause as being a defective monitor.
