Creative Mouse Moving on its own

I have a wireless mouse and key board.  Both work very well except tha
the mouse pointer keeps moving upwards of its own violition. How can
stop this please. I am using Widows XP Home

What surface is the mouse on? Optical mice are fussy about surfaces, not
working well on glass or other shiny surfaces. Even though you don't
normally need a mousepad with optical mice, some do better if you put
them on a dark solid color mousepad.

Thanks Malke I've now got it on a mouse pad and it seems to be behavin
