My brother took my computer to his friends house and rebotted the whole
computer. My sound was working perfectly before and now I can't hear anything
from my speakers or headphones. When I went to check Volume Control it game
me a message saying:
There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices go to
Control panel, click Printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware.
When I went it gave me no help at all. So My computer thinks I have no Audio
output when I have speakers plugged in and my sound card connected to the
mother board. What Do I do?

Get out the CD with the drivers on it for the PC, and install the sound
drivers.

The problem is your Windows Audio service is stopped.  If you are
running XP just click start - run - type services.msc and hit enter.
Scroll down to Windows Audio and right click on it and click start.
