how do i know if my drive can burn data? If you are referring to a CD drive, either consult the documentation for your PC to see what it came with, or look at the front of the drive, the front tray will generally state what the drive supports, cdr/rw dvdr/rw, etc. Also you can right click the drive in My Computer and select properties, if it's a burner you should have a recording tab. This is what the program looks like. Apparently there is an even more recent version around (version 5). http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Articles/Sources/Sony_DW-Q30A/Images/infotool.png When I use the program on my drive, the "Supported Write Features" shows no boxes ticked.
