Can anyone help,

Recently, Windows Messenger started causing a blue screen error to occur
everytime it was loaded and used for a few seconds. I realiased I was short
of a few crucial updates such as IE7 and security updates so I installed
these and also upgraded from Messenger 8.0 to 8.1. I am still suffering with
this same problem. Can anyone help?

Cheers
Nick

Stop using Windows Messenger, download Windows Live Messenger from

that happens due to the *marvelous* shared folder utility.
try to do a search for 'shared folders' in these newsgroups to find out a
bit more of what i'm talking about..

go to options .. find the shared folder option and deactivate it! everything
works fine again.
so far there is no solution for this. :(

;)
