Hi,

The windows messenger 5.1 has the feature of SIP but unfortunetely it can't
be installed on Vista business edition.

Is there any version of Windows Messenger or any "Add-on" which will work on
Vista Business with SIP facility??? Understanding that we were able to run
5.1 on WindowsXP.

Hello,

I think, for Vista, you'll have to use Office Communicator
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/communicator/FX101729051033.aspx .

Hi,

Actually Communicator isn't a good option here because you need to have a CAL for it and its
designed to only work with Live Communications Server.  The previous SIP integration in
Windows Messenger 5.1 allowed all kinds of SIP devices and services.

Hi Mark,

I have installed Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 on my Laptop for Vista
OS and it is working very fine. Its been one month now & till date I didn't
find any difficulty. You may access the same from :
