no sound (not a/v)

none of my messenger sounds will work (contact online,
new message, atc) the options setting for this  is
correctly set up. and help?

No I have not found the problem. I belive it is another
program I have installed that has created this, but
cannot figure out which one.

If you ever do sort out your problem, please post what
you did, as I am constantly searching my programs to see
what could be wrong... I have just installed incredibail,
and it has sounds which I can hear, it just seems to be
IM, what a bummer!!
