Hi all,

I would appreciate some advice on buying a router.
To be more specific, a friend is thinking about buying one but she wants to
be able to use Messenger.
She is running XPpro.

Are there routers to be avoided , or recommended.
Please keep in mind we live in Belgium and the routers for Europe aren't
allways the same as the US versions.
I use a D-Link 604 myself but I don't have any experience with Messenger.

TIA

Greetings wlc,

The key for keeping Messenger working using a router is Universal Plug and Play (UPnP)
support.  Nowadays a good number of the router specs indicate UPnP support right on the box,
but you might want to make up a list of routers available locally (or from the web) and then
see which support UPnP (and whatever specs you want).
