Hi boys...
How can I export my emoticons settings and emoticons images to use on
another PC ???
Is there a folder or a file to copy ???

Tnx!

Greetings,

No there isn't any folder containing any emotions or display pcs. The only
way you can aquire these is to "hack" the MSN Messenger program with a
program like Resource Hacker or Resource Tuner. You'll be able to extract
the images from there.

* I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU TO USE THIS PROGRAM * This can corrupt your version
of MSN Messenger.

Thanks and best of luck!

Hi,

Custom Emoticons and *all* Display Pictures (including the built-in ones) are within folders
and can be backed up; there's no need for hacking the resources.

Greetings Snake,

Yes you certainly can.  To back them up, you'll simply need to backup the folders that
contain them by clicking Start, then Run, type:
%appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger
and click OK.

You'll be presented with a folder or folders with various numbers, each of these folders will
denote a Passport that has signed in and contained within each folder will be an
CustomEmoticons folder.

Alternatively, you can use an application to do this for you.  See here:

Hi,

Well, even the default pictures are exported from the executable automatically when you first
login.

Excellent program,

but...

READ very carefully the license agreement before installing anything
(like you should always do btw). By agreeing it you also agree that the
installer will install an adware searchbar from 180solutions!!

(btw, most programs on sherv.net contain not-optional adware)

But there's a method to restore my emoticons with the short commands to call
them???

Tnx!

pics thing anyway .. i mean there is no Privacy what so eva, As this is
a shared computer and i do not want other users of this computer to see
my Display pics etc .. and they can just type my e-mail in and they see
it all, You should have to type an e-mail and password in order to back
up everything, or is there a way ?

Hi,

It doesn't work anymore, so it's not really an issue.  MSN Backup will however:
http://www.baisoft.it/msnbackup_english.asp

Custom emoticons, etc are stored in your user profile folder in Windows -- if that area is
unsecure, then anyone can look at it.
